INTERCITY BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP

PRESS RELEASE – The Guam Bowling Congress in conjunction with the Unity Development Corporation and Central Lanes Bowling Center will be hosting the 27th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship from November 29 – December 5, 2013. GBC was the host of the inaugural championship in 1987 and will also play host to another first, the U22 Bowlers Circuit Grand Finals by AIBC presented by Storm Bowling Products and Turbo Grips.

The 27th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship will be making its sixth competitive edition on Guam. The annual championship will be contested by eleven cities including Hong Kong City and New Territories from Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam of Malaysia, Pasay and Paranaque from the Philippines, Taegu City of Korea, Saipan and host Dededo, Hagatna and Tamuning. The teams will be competing for the coveted Shinzo Sato Cup currently held by Paranaque City. Senior bowlers, 50 years of age and above will also be contesting for medals.

The U22 Bowlers Circuit Grand Finals by AIBC will feature 24 bowlers representing various cities from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Guam who qualified through a series of tour legs held during the year in Paranaque, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Bank vouchers and medals will be awarded to the top bowlers while Storm Bowling Products will be presenting top line bowling equipment to the top three finishers. The top male and female competitors will be awarded round trip tickets to the Turbo Collegiate Expo in the USA courtesy of Turbo Grips.
