THRILLING START TO MIDDLE SCHOOL BOWLING LEAGUE

Young talent hits the lanes

PRESS RELEASE – The much-anticipated second edition of the Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam (IIAAG) Middle School Bowling League launched with an opening ceremony at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. The event began with a spirited parade of participating schools, followed by the oath of sportsmanship and the coaches’ and officials’ oath, setting the tone for a season of competitive yet camaraderie-driven sportsmanship.

This year’s league features talented bowlers representing Andersen Middle School (AMS), Dominican Catholic School (DCS), Guahan Academy Charter School, SIFA Charter School, St. Anthony Catholic School (SACS), and St. John’s School (SJS).

Singles Competition Highlights

The league’s first competition adopted a singles format, where each athlete bowled two games, earning points based on their performance.

In the girls’ division, SIFA Manta Rays’ standout performer Aubreale Charfauros stole the spotlight with a phenomenal game score of 184 – the highest among all contestants – finishing with a total pin count of 318. Aria Jae Domingo from DCS Veritas claimed second place, while Manta Rays’ Tasilyn Reyes narrowly secured third, edging out SACS Raiders’ Kristin Lanuza and SJS Knights’ Yedam Kim by just one pin.

The boys’ division was equally electrifying, with Raiders’ Lyo Sawada delivering an impressive score of 328 to lead the field. AMS Dragons’ Nathan Caasi clinched second place, while Knights’ Tanish Dewan finished in third, showcasing exceptional skill and precision.
