The Pepsi Warriors scored 34 points in the first quarter defeating a reeling Chili’s Falcons team 47-0 at the UOG field in Mangilao on a rainy football Sunday. The Warriors have yet to lose (4-0) while the Falcons are the complete opposite still searching for their first win (0-4).

Warriors Stephen Santos stole the show in the first quarter picking off Falcons quarterback Steven Flores three times, returning two of them for touchdowns. Santos played the middle of the field preventing Flores from dumping off quick passes, making him pay each time. Right before the quarter ended, Santos took his third pick across the field while avoiding the entire Falcons offense to extend the lead to 34-0.

Xavier Reyes and Warriors running mate Dave Delgado gashed the Falcons front seven for big yardage each getting runs of 20 yards or more in the first quarter to go along with a touchdown apiece.

Sandy Fejeran managed to grab a couple of catches including a 38-yard pass from quarterback Danny Manibusan falling just short of a touchdown. The pair would waste no time connecting on the very next play for a three-yard touchdown strike which was the Warriors third touchdown at the time putting them up 21-0.

A fumble filled second quarter, which was most likely caused by the rain, prevented the Warriors from scoring but did not translate into points for the Falcons. Flores threw another interception at midfield to Warriors safety Casey Cruz giving him four INT’s in the first half.

The Warriors tacked on 13 more points in the second half handing the Falcons their fourth straight loss while gaining their fourth straight win.

Next weekend will be a rematch between the Warriors and Cars Plus Rams while the Falcons will look to topple a streaking IP&E Angels team.
