Football is a long-beloved sport on Guam dating back over five decades.
The love of the sport is deeply rooted in the Triple J Enterprises family as the Jones Family was active participants with the old Guam Eagles in the 1970’s and later the FD Friars.
As long-time supporters of the Guam Youth Football movement, the Jones’ are doing one better with the upcoming Triple J High School All-Star Football Game slated for Sunday, November 1st at the Guam High Football Field.
“We are a group of companies committee to our island and its families – family is priority,” Senior Vice President Jay Jones said. “That means raising our children with values, values that are learned through teamwork, passion and dedication. That is why we have such a strong commitment to youth sports, I am a product of youth football, so is my brother (Jeff). There is no better feeling than connecting our business and our brands to the values that the players, the families and supporters of youth football on Guam live by. Being their biggest fan now, means creating big fans of our brands in the near future.”
The idea of a high school all-star game was brought about between GSPN CEO Patrick Lujan, Jones and his Marketing Director Kristine Lujan – and in the end, it was an idea that was too good to pass up.
“We have two local businesses that have the same vision, and that’s supporting our hard-working athletes,” GSPN’s Lujan said. “It’s really something more for the kids to work toward, than just a mention on the All-Island list voted by the coaches.”
In fact, the all-star teams will be made up players from the All-Island list and the game has already been sanctioned by the IIAAG.
“The GSPN & Triple J Auto Group 2015 High School Football All-Star Game is a unique opportunity for our players – it encourages and supports progressive development of our players – especially those who will go off and make a name for Guam – this is something that has been a long time coming and is all a testament to GSPN and Triple J’s commitment to support sustainable youth football programs,” Jones added.
Other all-star events around the game is being scheduled to assure a fun-filled night.
