PNG: GUAM BOUNCES BACK, DEFEATS SAMOA

Less than 24 hours ago the Guam Men’s Basketball Team came up just short of a victory over Tahiti in the 2015 Pacific Games opener. Determined to make right their wrongs, the team bounced back for a big 79-72 win over Samoa during Day 2 of action.

Led by big-time scorers Joe Blas with 22 points and JP Cruz with 18, the speed and shooting proved to be the difference with Guam scoring 30 points from three-point range (10 threes) to Samoa’s 9 points (3 three pointers).

The men’s team will get a days rest before playing Kiribati at 5 pm on Monday night.
