SAIPAN TO HOST TURKEY CROSS THIS WEEKEND

31 Guam riders head north for competition

PRESS RELEASE – Thirty-one racers of the Guam Motocross Club will pack up their racing machines and  leave for the neighboring island of Saipan in the Northern Marianas. On November 25th and 26th the Marianas Racing Association will host their Annual Turkey Cross motocross  weekend at the Cow Town Motocross Park located in the village of Marpi. The event  which consists of three heats, will begin with two heats on Saturday, and the final heat on Sunday. The three heats combined will determine the overall Turkey Cross 2023 class of champions.

Classes at this year’s Turkey Cross will include Kid’s ATV and Minibike classes, Women’s classes, as well as Vet and Legends classes along with other categories that cater to each participant’s skill level and size of machine.

Racers from Guam’s contingent will arrive as early as Wednesday in hopes of putting in some practice; seat time they have sorely missed after the closure of the Guam  International Raceway Park in Yigo. Motocross is a demanding sport, and Guam’s racers  are extremely excited to hone their skills and finally be able to compete on an organized  racetrack.

We are hopeful the island’s leaders and government officials will continue to work with the Guam Racing Federation to resolve the closure of Guam’s only safe motorsports facility and we can finally return to our home of more than 25 years.

This would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors: The  Guam Motocross Club would like to thank Seabridge, Inc., MSA Guam, Pacific Unlimited,  Inc., CTSI Logistics Saipan, Marianas Racing Association, TSL Foundation, Triple J  Motors, Rocky Mountain Precast, Unitek Environmental Guam, and Cycles Plus.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins are heading to the NCAA Women’s Sweet 16.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
