The 2024 High School Paddling season came to a close Saturday afternoon at Matapang Beach as dozens of teams met up once last time to culminate a hot season with the All-Island Meet.
Lanes 3 and 4 were the favored lanes as almost all winners came from those lanes. Lane 1 was the sore lane as each team assigned to that struggled on the turn and on the return.
Nevertheless, it was all about having fun and improving on times as each team saw their teamwork result in faster times since the first meet of the season on March 23.
The JFK Islanders came out on top in both the boys and girls varsity division.

Guam’s top female golfer Tyanna Jacot has committed to play D1 golf with the San Jose State Spartans next school year. Jacot left Guam after her sophomore high school year to pursue her golf dreams. She currently is a senior at Torrey Pines High School where they look to defend the California state championship.

Guam Sports Legends: Baseball’s Richard Martinez and football’s Kenny Lujan hang out at a recent community fundraiser. Both were superstars for the UOG Tritons in their respective sports in the 1980’s.
