COWBOYS CONTROL PACKERS IN BATTLE OF 3-0 TEAMS

In a big Matua division showdown in the Triple J GNYFF Youth Football League, the Southern Cowboys came away with a decisive 36-14 win over the Guam Packers Saturday afternoon at the Tiyan Field.

Ray Tommy Kanemoto scored three touchdowns for the Cowboys on a wet and soggy field. Damian Ooka and Jaeden Cruz added a TD for Southern, as they had a big second half after clinging to a slim 12-8 halftime lead.

Both teams came into the game at 3-0 and their defenses gave up only six points total.

The Cowboys head into next weekend with another huge game, this time it will be against the Hal’s Angels, which beat the Steelers on Saturday. The two squads head into the game at 4-0.

In the Manha division, the Cowboys and Packers drew to the season’s first tie at 14-14.The Metgot Packers move to 4-0 after blanking the Cowboys 19-0.
