MANHA OUTLAWS FINISH PERFECT SEASON

Flores, Reyes light up the championship scoreboard

By Patrick Lujan

Keo Flores and Lenox Reyes scored all the touchdowns for the Faha Outlaws in the GNYFF Manha Division championship game as they completed a perfect season 41-25 over the 3rd-ranked Southern Cowboys Saturday morning at the UOG Field.

It was a clear and perfect morning for football as the two teams lit up the proverbial scoreboard.

Players of the Game: Lenox Reyes and Keo Flores

Southern got on the board first when Jace Cruz took off on a QB keeper on 4th-and-9 for a 44-yard score to make it 7-0. It was the first of four touchdowns in a matter of five place for the two teams.

Next play: Flores untouched off the left edge for 45 yards (7-7)

Next play: Southern’s Malachai Cruz took a bad snap and found open space to sprint down the right side for 45 yards (13-7)

Two plays later: Reyes bounced off one tackler and sprinted down the right side for a 45-yarder (14-13)

Things didn’t slow down as Flores added a 7-yard TD and Jace Cruz pulled off another 45-yard score to end the 1st quarter 21-19 in favor of the Outlaws.

A much quicker 2nd quarter had the Outlaws increase their lead to 28-19 before halftime with another long Flores 47-yard score.

The second half was almost on speed dial as the Outlaws controlled the clock, taking up the entire third quarter with Reyes capping it off with a 3-yard plunge up the middle to extend the lead to 34-19.

Flores added his 4th and final TD early in the 4th quarter off a broken play for a 34-yard score.

Jace Cruz capped off a great game for the Cowboys with a 70-yarder up the middle late in the game.

Note: Manha Division plays on a shortened 80-yard field and no kickoffs

The Faha Outlaws cap off a perfect Manha Division season with a big win over the Cowboys in the championship game at the UOG Field.
