GOLDEN HOOPS FALL TOURNAMENT (WEEK ONE)

PRESS RELEASE – Bud Light Golden Hoops Classic (GHC) 2012 Fall Tournament closed out its first week of games in the 30 plus competitive division between Inarajan Hawks and Bank of Guam on September 2 at Tamuning Gym.

A short handed Hawks relied on Joaquin Charfauros and JoeSteven Duenas offensive scoring down the stretch for the win 54-42. Charfauros scored 17 points followed by Duenas with 14 points. Bank of Guam’s Charles Reyes led his team in scoring with 17 points.

Other game results
18 plus men’s varsity division
Andersen Defenders 66, Sixers Club 44. Defenders Jon Lim had the hot hand with 22 points while Sixers Vince Espinal Jr. and Austin Crisostomo scored 14 points a piece in the loss.

Inarajan Hawks 56, GWC 45. Hawks Dominic Sablan, Michael Borja and Joshua Flores scored 14 points a piece for the win. GWC’s Rey Sablan scored 14 points while teammate Mark Taijeron chipped in 12 points in the loss.

Team Heineken 77, BofG Club 51. Heineken’s Joseph Blas scored a game high 23 points followed by BofG’s Roque Charfauros with 20 points.

Team IX 47, Malesso Rebels 38. Justin Garcia and Nilo Colitoy led Team IX in scoring with 13 points and 12 points respectively. Rebels Baaron Quinata scored 13 points in the loss.

Tamuning Typhoons 63, Sixers Club 62. Typhoons top scorers were Andrew Borja with 27 points followed by Derrick Royster with 21 points and Jude Martinez 12 points. Sixers top scorer was Stefan Whitehurst scored 18 points.

40 plus men’s varsity division
Ada’s Trust 52, Inarajan Hawks 50. Ada’s Clarence Lagutang scored a game high 23 points while the Hawks Frankie Taitague scored 13 points in the loss.

Coed recreation division
Fuetsa Club 45, Ada’s Trust 39; Aloha Maid Mystics took the win by forfeit against Guam Radiology (GRC).
