High school golfers managed to put in a match Thursday afternoon before the heavy rain from nearby weather disturbance drenched the island later in the evening.
The Father Duenas Friars captured another win in High School Golf defeating the JFK Islanders 4-0 at the Guam International Country Club. FD has been on a roll since losing to the St. Thomas Aquinas Lions earlier this season.
“These guys have been playing good, it’s exciting to watch,” said Friars coach Bill Reyes.
FD senior golfer Redge Camacho blanked Gion Benavides 2-0 to remain undefeated in match play.
“I want to try and go undefeated this season, I still got one more match and it’s going to be tough,” admitted FD’s Camacho.
Camacho’s wingman Ricardo Terlaje finished on top as well defeating Manuel Trujillo 2-0. FD’s Koby Aiphios was also victorious over JFK’s Lomeno Sablan. In the last matchup, Eric Tenorio won via forfeit by the Islanders.
The Friars also defeated the St. John’s Knights yesterday afternoon 3-1 in a makeup match that came down to the final hole.
“It was nerve racking knowing that I had to win, for our team to win,” said FD’s Camacho. Camacho was able to win the final hole to secure the win for the Friars.

The All-Island Championship is just two weeks away with the Friars fighting to finish on top.
St. Johns vs Harvest
In boys matchups, the Harvest Christian Academy got the better of the Knights winning 3-0 with the fourth matchup ending in a tie. St. Johns however defeated the Eagles in girls matchups 3-1.
“It’s good to see this year that a lot of teams are more competitive,” said Knights coach Bob Kelley. “Usually there’s only a couple of standout teams but now there’s a bunch, which is good.”
St. Thomas vs Okkodo
The St. Thomas Lions defeated the Okkodo Bulldogs in both boys and girls matchups.
