AMBROS TO SPONSOR WFPL

PRESS RELEASE – Representing the world’s leading brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev, local wholesaler Ambros, Inc. is a proud sponsor of the 2nd Season of the Bud Light Women’s Fast-Pitch League.

The Bud Light Women’s Fast-Pitch League features a total of four teams (Tough Chicks, Lady Diamonds, Bottomed Out and Baby Bottomed Out) to compete in two round robins and double elimination format playoff. The first round of games kicked off Sunday, August 4, 2013.

“With the Bud Light Women’s Fast-Pitch League, Ambros Inc. is proud to provide an opportunity for a diverse number of skilled players to showcase their talent in this field of sport. We share their commitment in promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie in our island communities”, said Tom Shimizu, General Manager of Ambros Inc.

“Guam Amateur Baseball is very proud to have a partnership with Ambros Inc. to help provide healthy sports activities for the island’s baseball and softball community, both for male and female players. The continued support and leadership of Ambros Inc. has provided the youth and adults competitive and fun leagues to develop their skills and play in. The relationship between GAB and Ambros Inc. will continue to strengthen the long term organizational goal, event management and credibility of baseball and softball on Guam”, adds Bill Bennet, President of Guam Amateur Baseball.

Guam Blooded: Ethan Toves Maddies has signed to play D1 baseball for the College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts on a full ride scholarship.
He is the son of proud parents Macky and Yvette Toves Maddies of Los Alamitos, California, grandson of Juan and Maria Toves+ formerly of Ordot/Barrigada Guam and Godson of Anthony and AnnMarie Toves of Ordot, Guam.

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.

The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.

JFK’s Collin Rillamas was named tournament MVP.
