From start to finish, the Angels dominated both sides of the ball routing the Islanders 32-0 at Eagle field Saturday in Mangilao as the Budweiser Football League approaches seasons end.
Running back Mike Pangelinan did the dirty work for the Angels scoring both of his touchdowns in the first half with his team up 24-0 before intermission. The first touchdown was set up by the Angles special teams after blocking the Islanders punt, putting them just 10 yards away from the end zone. Pangelinan took the first handoff on the possession straight in for the score.
Angels quarterback Steve Phillips was held without a touchdown pass against the Raiders defense in last weekend’s showdown. But Phillips bounced back from the shutout, nicely hitting tight end Corey Mitchell for a 30-yard bomb in the corner of the end zone to put the Angels up 24-0.

Phillips also scored on a QB-keeper in the fourth quarter which would be the last score of the contest.
Islanders quarterback Paul Unger made his return to the field after missing the game against the Eagles last weekend but the Islanders offense had a lot of trouble establishing any form of rhythm with disruptive play from Angels linebacker Robby Leon Guerrero.
The closest the Islanders got to scoring was in the fourth quarter on a deep pass from Unger to Brandon Santos who caught it between two Angels defenders getting the Islanders inside the red zone. But Santos fumbled the ball once contact was made after the catch with the Angels recovering it.
Moments later, Islanders cornerback Chris Camacho intercepted a pass from Phillips and took it 70 yards before getting pushed out of bounds. The Islanders failed to capitalize turning the ball over on downs giving the Angels the opportunity to bring the ball near midfield to kneel the remaining seconds off the clock.
BFL action will continue Sunday with the Eagles taking on the still winless Steelers.
