The rematch between the Hal’s Angels and the Raiders ended with the black and gray taking the upper hand, grabbing the win with a single touchdown and conversion in round two of the Budweiser Football League Sunday at Eagle field.

Midway through the third quarter, Raiders star quarterback Will Williams connected with wide receiver Alex Azcarraga who ran in for what would have been the first score of the game; however, the touchdown was negated after they were penalized for an illegal block in the back.

Through a scoreless two and a half quarters, the Raiders infiltrated the end zone in the ensuing play when Williams connected with Azcarraga using the similar play for the first touchdown of the game. Despite being pushed back after a penalty, Williams scrambled in the back, and then weaved his way through the defense for the two-point conversion, making the score in the third quarter 8-0.

The Angels nearly scored in the fourth quarter to possibly tie the game and it all began with a crucial fumble recovery by Johnavan Tamayo at about the 15-yard line. Unsuccessful at their first three attempts, it was do or die for the Angels at fourth and goal at the 8-yard line. Angels quarterback Stephen Phillips threw to wide receiver Issu Mendiola. As fans held their breath and ceased to blink so as not to miss a thing, the pass was overthrown to the wide open Mendiola, and the Angels turned the ball over on downs.

Despite the loss, the Angels came up with big stops on defense preventing many crucial receptions. Notably, in the second quarter, the Angels prevented the Raiders from scoring early, withstanding an offensive drive at the one-yard line with big defensive plays made by Joel Limtiaco and Joey Reyes.

The Raiders continue to dominate the standings with no losses, while the Angels tack on another loss to their previous two losses to the Raiders and the Eagles.
