BUDWEISER AMATEUR BASEBALL SET FOR MARCH

The Budweiser Amateur Baseball League is back in the swing of things with opening weekend action starting Saturday, March 15th at Leo Palace Resort.

PRESS RELEASE – Budweiser Amateur Baseball League is back in the swing of things with opening weekend action starting Saturday, March 15th at Leo Palace Resort. Opening Weekend kicks off with three games Saturday and Sunday including the featured matchup on Saturday 6pm with the defending champion Northern A’s facing off against the Chalan Pago Amigos in a rematch of last season’s King of the Diamond Championship Series. 

The 2014 BABL is an adult league consisting of 12 teams and two divisions (AAA and AA) with each team playing 20+ regular season games. Each division will play a double elimination playoff and best of 3 King of the Diamond Championship Series.

Guam Amateur Baseball will host the Budweiser All Star Jamboree on Sunday, May 25th including All Star Game, Homerun Derby and Youth Showcase with the islands best players swinging for the fences and a youth showcase event for Guam’s future star ballplayers.

Catch all the Budweiser Amateur Baseball League action at Leo Palace Resort every Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm and three games each Saturday and Sunday at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.  Leo Palace Baseball Stadium offers indoor and outdoor seating to sit back enjoy a hot dog and cold refreshment while you watch the game. Admission is free so bring out the entire family or village to cheer on your team!

QUICK HITS

Guam national golf team player Aki Matsuno secured second place at the FCG Hawaii World Series championship.

Matsuno’s second place finish earned him an invitation to compete in the FCG Junior Golf Championship to be held in July 2025.

A junior at St. John’s, he is also currently leading the IIAAG high school All-Island golf competition, chasing the coveted individual high school golf title.

Guam Blooded: College freshman Brianne Graves is currently ranked 5th in the nation in the 103-lb DI women’s wrestling rankings. She just beat the defending All-American.
Bri finished high school in Cincinnati, ranked #2 in the nation before signing with North Central College, which is one of the top wrestling teams in the country.
Her Evangelista grandparents are originally from Yigo.
