The 2014 Women’s Spring Basketball League is down to its final two teams after going at it all weekend long at the Yigo gym and FD Jungle Saturday and Sunday. The 7th seeded Dededo Lady Bulldogs defeated the 2nd ranked Elite to get into the semifinals and the 6th seeded Islanders Club took down the 3rd ranked Naval Base Guam to advance as well.
The Championship game will be played at the FD Jungle at 1 p.m. on Saturday May 10.

Islanders Club 39, Naval Base Guam 36 – (Islanders’ Anita Onedera & Alison Bowman score 10 points)
Lady Dragons 39, Fuesta 29 – (Dragons’ April Pardilla – 11 points)

Semifinals
Guam Nationals 75, Lady Dragons 39
The undefeated Guam National team rolled through the Lady Dragons in the first game of Sunday’s semifinal showdowns after a great display of full court defense and a constant attack to the basket proved to be a winning formula for head coach Sid Guzman and the National girls.
Guam National’s Kat Castro held down the first half scoring for the team as Castro put up 11 points, out scoring the entire Dragons squad as the Nationals jumped out to a 33-10 half-time lead. Castro finished with 22 points to lead the squad.
The undefeated streak continues for the National team as they will now face the Islanders Club as they defeated the Dededo Lady Bulldogs in a close game.

Allison Bowman’s 12 points came up big for the Islanders as they advance to the championship game over Felicia Borja and the Bulldogs. Borja had a strong 21 points, but the all around effort of Bowman, Ruffina Royster, and Rebecca Rupley gave the Islanders the nod.
