NAUTA GRABS KING OF OCTOBER

Tim Nauta won King of the Lanes for October while Carlos Pangelinan took home prince honors during their showdown on October 19th at the Central Lanes bowling alley.

PRESS RELEASE – Duane Camacho took an early lead on Tim Nauta during the monthly finals of the Budweiser King of the Lanes held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Central Lanes Bowling Center opening with a double. However Nauta came storming back to take the lead with a four bagger and never looked back winning his first title of the year 213-188.

In the semi-final round, the top two seeds succumbed to their lower seeded foes as Nauta eliminated top seed Keith Guerrero 214-182 while Camacho spared a pin ten on the final stanza to counter a strong finish by second seed Michael Gadia which set up the semi-final round 235-224.

Keith Guerrero strung nine strikes in a row to close out the qualifying round and take pole position jumping from 10th place with a 280 game on the last game. His 1291 topped Mike Gadia by 15 pins as JD Castro finished in third with a 1270 total. Duane Camacho earned the fourth spot with a 1268 series followed by John Leon Guerrero 1258, Greg Borja 1249, Tim Nauta 1245, Jay Leon Guerrero 1244, John John Ada 1240 and Jonathan Duenas 1219 rounded off the top ten who competed in the elimination rounds.

The Prince of the Lanes finalists included a first and second seed match up. Top seed Carlos Pangelinan took advantage of early mishaps by second seed Juan Blas and consistently pounded the pins to treat himself to his third Prince of the Lanes title of the year 212+33 to 175+30.

Pangelinan blasted through the Prince qualifying with a 1366 total which included 198 pins of handicap. Blas ended the day in second with a 1252 total, 180 handicap followed by John Mercado 1211 (162), Nikko Gutierrez 1184 (126), Shannon Bukikosa 1174(156), Von Cabral 1155 (66), Richard Dahill 1154 (198), Mike Wong 1140 (180), Noah Taimanglo 1127 (168), Arnold Javier 1127 (168) rounded off the top ten.
