The end of the NFL season can only mean one thing for Guam, the start of the Miller Football League, the MFL. Four teams will go at it all 2015 season long, which will feature the two-time defending champion Pepsi Warriors, The Hal’s Angels, The Rams, and the Island Eagles.

Kick off is Saturday at the Eagle’s field at 2 pm followed by the Sunday game at Eagles Field at 2 pm as well. Check in with all the teams before kick off!

The Warriors

The 2014 season couldn’t have ended any better for the Warriors after going undefeated during the regular season and then steamrolling every team in the playoffs to earn their second-straight MFL title. With a group of solid returnees, the Warriors are the easy favorite to repeat for a third time.

The Warriors officially begin their 2015 campaign agains the Angels on Saturday at 2 pm to officially kick off the season. The last time the two teams met, the Warriors blanked the Angels in the championship game.

The Angels

The boys in blue made it to the MFL championship game last season without a head coach, and though the team didn’t win the title, they did develop a much closer bond that will surly pay dividends in 2015.

“It presented different challenges for us and our leadership with Steven Phillips (quarterback) and Ryan Bigler (saftey) as our captains offensively and defensively. This year we’ve learned to play for each other more as a family. Our team is more well rounded and we have more depth in each position, hopefully that will help us finish the job this year,” said Angels running back Joaquin Pangelinan.

The Angels are looking for a little revenge after losing to the Warriors each time last season.

The Eagles

Every team knew that they were in for a fight against the Island Eagles in the BFL and youth football programs, and for the first time ever, the organization has made its way to the MFL. The Eagles will be carrying a long history of football with them and they will officially kick-off on Sunday against the Rams.

The dangerous Eagles have a wealth of offensive potential, like multi-purpose man Regenal Baylor, and they are aiming to fly to newer heights in 2015. Quarterback Corey Ching and running back Pumpy Manglona will also be suiting up in yellow to going Baylor for the 2015 season.

The Rams

2014 was a down year for the Rams, who finished the season without a win. The group of young Rams were no push overs giving each team a run in the first half, but the second halves of each game proved very differently and the down season will only help the young squad.

The last time the Rams took the field was the opening round of the MFL playoffs where they lost 26-7. This year, the Rams open up the season
