Phoenix 88, MacTech 77

Julius Yu’s eight three pointers and team-high 27 points helped the Phoenix Sons earn their first win of the season over the new squad MacTech. Romeo Sanchez was a rebound shy of a double-double, posting 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Jonathan Triplett and Mike Newsom scored 18 points each for MacTech in the loss

Bombers 103, Outlanders 87

Reheat Trahan scored a monstrous 42 points in the Bombers debut as they bounced the Outlanders in the second game of the evening. Teammate Chris Dawley added 23 points while dishing out 5 assists.

The Outlanders got a strong showing from James Collins who led with 19 points and the streaky shooter off the bench in Shawn Perez with 18.

Toothfairies 85, UOG 69

The two-time defending champs pulled away in the second half behind leading scorer Earvin Jose’s 23 points and 5 dimes. The Toothfairies had four players scoring in double figures.

Ryan Nangauta had 17 points to lead the Tritons.

The Prospects captured the Guam PONY Colt Spring Baseball League (14-16) championship Saturday with a masterful 2-0 win over the Smokies.
Pitchers Gavin Alcantara (5 innings) and Javier Taimanglo (2 innings) combined to throw a no-hitter.
Taimanglo and Juan Carlo Presnell drove in the two runs for the Prospects, and Skyler Paulino had two hits.

Guam Blooded: Joel Toves has signed to play college volleyball for the UC-Merced Bobcats. He is the son of Arianne and Phillip Toves of Dededo and grandson of Ed and Paulette Toves of Malesso.
Joel will be on Guam over the summer to help out with his uncle Al Garrido’s volleyball camps with the Legacy Volleyball Club.
