FRIARS HOLD OFF TOUGH KNIGHTS

FD remains unbeaten in IIAAG boys volleyball

The FD Friars remain hot in the IIAAG Boys Volleyball League, staying undefeated Tuesday night against a tough St. John’s Knights squad.

Playing without injured star Cameron Kelley, the Knights definitely had their backs against the wall. The Friars, though, were too much taking the match in four sets 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16.

“Regardless of the score, it was a hard fought win,” said FD coach Steve Pangelinan. “St. John’s was playing hard defense, and was swinging at every good set. I could see they changed their lineup because Cameron Kelley (sprained ankle; could be back next Tuesday) was still out injured, but they made it work. FD, however, was determined, and did not stop firing off spikes and tough serves from all sides of the court.”
