BLAS CONQUERS NIMITZ HILL ROAD RACE

20-year-old tearing up the roadways

PRESS RELEASE – Congratulations to BLAYDE BLAS for taking the top spot for the 4 lap distance in the Nimitz Hill Road Race. RYAN MATIENZO and ROMEL SOLIS took 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Strong work, gentlemen! 

In the 2 lap race it was reigning Guam National Triathlon champion, MARK IMAZU (back from college for summer) beating out SHIN MIYAGI and BENJAMIN PERALTA. For the women it was TARA TYDINGCO in 1st followed by BREANNE BASH.

In the 1-lap race, it was nearly an all female podium with THELMA SORIANO taking the top spot and CLAIRE GANON in 2nd. KYLE AREVALO claimed the 3rd overall spot. 

Well done, everyone! Steep Side is no easy feat and we’re proud of everyone who came out to conquer this with us.

Ray Zaragoza, formerly from Ordot, received his jiu-jitsu black belt from professor David Veloria, formerly from Dededo.
The pair train and run The Trench Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Tacoma, Washington.
Zaragoza is the first to be promoted to black belt within The Trench camp.

The Academy of Our Lady of Guam (AOLG) hosted its 3rd annual U15 Girls Volleyball Tournament with seven teams.
The AOLG Swaggers went unbeaten and beat the Legacy Volleyball Club (LVC) Crumble Cookies, comprised of Notre Dame players, in the championship game 25-20, 25-17.
