ISLANDERS CAP OFF DOMINANT SEASON

JFK puts icing on perfect season

The JFK Islanders left no doubt who is the best in the 2023 ISA Girls Soccer League as they beat their toughest opponent, the Southern Dolphins for the third time this season 4-0 in the championship game Friday night at the GW Field.

The Islanders outscored their opponents on the year 105-1 to win their third straight title. If that’s not dominance, we don’t know what is.

Cassandra Kido scored two goals while Asako Belocora and Annie Jones added a goal apiece.

JFK lead 1-0 at the half and Southern had several excellent scoring opportunities, but good saves by the JFK keeper and shots high or wide keep Southern off the score sheet.

The Islanders had the greater possession time and the constant pressure from JFK proved too much for Southern.
