BEACH VOLLEYBALL KICKS OFF THIRD QUARTER SPORTS

The IIAAG Beach Volleyball League kicked off Monday with teams battling it out at Dungca’s Beach in Tamuning to get a strong footing for the rest of the season. The games were action packed with the Father Duenas Friars going up against a skilled Notre Dame Royals quad and over in the girls division the Harvest Eagles took on the Guam Adventist Angels.

Dungca’s Beach will be lit this season as games will be played just about every day

The Friars’ three games all ended in blowouts, sending a message early in the season. It was apparent in all three games that the Friars excelled defensively with hard kills coming down at them all afternoon but then always receiving. The real offensive highlights came in the last game with stars Joseph Mafnas and Leiland Gumabon dominating both sides.

Girls Division Games

The first game was forfeited by Guam Adventist giving a win to the Eagles. The next two games flew by. Both teams trading points back in forth. Game two ended in a well deserved harvest win. Game three was more intense with great shots from Patricia Cassidy and Alana McEever. Ultimately, the Angels outlast the Eagles earning them the win.
