MEDLER LEADS MANHA ANGELS TO UNDEFEATED SEASON

Verango adds to the offensive attack

The Hal’s Angels Manha squad blasted off the starting block and never looked back on their way to the GNYFF championship on Saturday, taking down the Packers 33-13 to finish the season undefeated.

Landen Medler took the first play of the game 60 yards and scored two plays for the first of three touchdowns on the day.

Medler added a 30-yard score and a short 3-yard TD to help the Angels take a commanding 27-0 halftime lead.

Sage Verango added the other score on a 45-yard scamper. Medler converted PATs to pat the stat sheets.

Verango added a 50-yard score in the 4th quarter. Both he and Medler easily surpassed the 100-yard mark rushing.

According to Angels head coach SP Phillips, Brennan Aquiningoc and the offensive line paved the way all game for Landen and Sage

Xayden Keezel, Kai Evaristo, and Benny Flores controlled the game with great defense.

The Manha Angels regain the title for the first time since 2018. It was then when they reeled off seven straight division titles from 2012-18.

QUICK HITS

Guam’s Wayne Blas completed his 13th Boston Marathon and 38th marathon overall.
The island’s record holder in the distance, Blas finished this year in 2:35:21.
“I’m very happy with this result because seven months ago, I was sidelined with a stress fracture that kept me out for three months. No running! To come back on an abbreviated marathon build and finish one of the toughest races strong and healthy was a big win for me.”
His time of 2:29:38 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon and World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships stands as the Guam National Record.
