GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL HITS PLAYOFFS

Youth flag football league coming to a close with playoff action

PRESS RELEASE – The NFL Flag Girls Football continued Saturday with Week 4 starting with the 8-10U Division Playoffs between the 1st vs 4th seed, the OG Raiders finished the regular season undefeated with 3-0 record and dominated the semi-finals game 30-12 against the Seahawks.

Regular season games continued with the 11-14U Division between the OG Raiders Black vs the Seahawks, with Raiders Black taking the win 14-0.

The second game of the 11-14U Division, the Honey Badgers Pink takes the win 6-0 over the Steelers.

In the oldest 15-18 Division, the Seahawks taking the win 10-7 over the Honey Badgers.

The next 8-10U playoff game is scheduled for Saturday, March 8 with the Steelers vs Honey Badgers. Regular season will also continue for the 11-14U and 15-18U divisions.

QUICK HITS

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.

The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.

JFK’s Collin Rillamas was named tournament MVP.

The Prospects captured the Guam PONY Colt Spring Baseball League (14-16) championship Saturday with a masterful 2-0 win over the Smokies.
Pitchers Gavin Alcantara (5 innings) and Javier Taimanglo (2 innings) combined to throw a no-hitter.
Taimanglo and Juan Carlo Presnell drove in the two runs for the Prospects, and Skyler Paulino had two hits.
