The 2025 High School Girls Volleyball League semifinals are all set after Friday night’s quarterfinal matches.
The top-ranked GW Geckos eliminated the Sanchez Sharks (8) 25-22, 25-7,16-25, 25-18. Zariah Basabe led the Gecko charge with 13 kills and five blocks, while Yenia Smartt posted 11 kills. Savannah Dela Rosa added nine kills – all guided by the hands of setter Areyanna Garrido.
The 2nd-ranked Academy Cougars took out the Notre Dame Royals (7) 25-13, 25-23, 25-12. Landen DeVera led the way for Academy with 11 kills with Lea Aromin adding nine kills.
#3 Harvest Eagles cruised by #6 JFK Islanders 25-11, 25-8, 25-14. The Eagles, who lost to only GW and Academy in the regular season, have not drop a single set to a team outside of the Geckos and Cougars.
And the 5th-ranked St. John’s Knights overcame the 4th-ranked Okkodo Bulldogs in a grueling 26-24, 31-29, 22-25, 25-22 match.

The final four will take place Tuesday night at 6 pm.
