Downs CNMI 18-3 to sweep pool play

Guam swept through pool play of the 2025 Asia Pacific Senior Little League Regional Tournament after taking care of the CNMI 18-3 Thursday morning at the Guam Sports Complex Field.

Guam will face the Philippines for the championship on Saturday at 1 pm. Guam beat the P.I. 11-1 on Wednesday.

In Thursday’s game, the CNMI scored first with a run in the top of the first off Guam starter Juan Carlo Presnell. Guam, however, quickly took back control with two runs in the first and exploded with six runs in the third and eight runs in the fourth.

Haigen Dirige led the Guam attack, going 4-for-4, while Cameron Ayuyu hit a home run and drove in three. Dirige, Ty Leon Guerrero, Pierce Castro and Javier Taimanglo all had two RBIs.

The Philippines beat American Samoa 14-1 to gain another shot at knocking out Guam.
