PACIFIC PARS TOURNEY RAISES FUNDS FOR P.I. FOODBANK

Guam golfers hold charitable tournament in the Philippines

PRESS RELEASE – The Pacific Pars Golf Tournament 2025 wrapped up a successful debut at Pradera Golf & Country Club, bringing together players from across the region for a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and charitable impact.

Held under the theme “Strengthening Partnerships for a Cause,” the tournament featured players from the U.S. military community, business sponsors, and the local golf scene. The event proudly raised ₱70,000 in support of the Philippine Foodbank Foundation, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to reducing food waste and fighting hunger across the Philippines.

Plans are already underway to expand next year’s tournament, continuing the mission of uniting communities and strengthening partnerships—one round at a time.

Guam’s Wayne Blas completed his 13th Boston Marathon and 38th marathon overall.
The island’s record holder in the distance, Blas finished this year in 2:35:21.
“I’m very happy with this result because seven months ago, I was sidelined with a stress fracture that kept me out for three months. No running! To come back on an abbreviated marathon build and finish one of the toughest races strong and healthy was a big win for me.”
His time of 2:29:38 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon and World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships stands as the Guam National Record.
