SINDALU NINJA GAMES SET FOR FEB 8-9

Micronesia Mall will host the two-day affair

PRESS RELEASE – The Sindalu Ninja Games return on February 8-9, 2025, offering athletes of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in Guam’s premier Ninja Warrior-style competition. The event serves as a qualifier for the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA) World Championships, providing local competitors a chance to compete on the global stage.

Open to All – First-Timers and Experienced Athletes Welcome
The Sindalu Ninja Games is designed to challenge both seasoned athletes and newcomers. Participants can expect a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment, with divisions for youth (6+), teens, amateur, and masters (40+ & 50+). All registered participants will have the chance to train ahead of time, Feb 6th and 7th before the event.

“This is more than just a competition—it’s an opportunity for anyone to challenge themselves, build confidence, and be part of an incredible community,” said Deren Perez, founder of the Sindalu Ninja Games. “Whether you’re aiming for a world championship spot or just want to test your skills, we encourage everyone to sign up and have fun.”

Grand Prize Raffle – Round-Trip Ticket to Southeast Asia
As an added incentive, all registered competitors will be entered into a grand prize raffle for a round-trip ticket to anywhere in Southeast Asia. Participants will receive one raffle ticket upon registration and can earn additional tickets for each obstacle they complete, increasing their chances of winning.

Pathway to Team Guam – National Team Selection
The Guam Ninja Association (GNA) will invite top-performing athletes from the Sindalu Ninja Games to join the Guam National Ninja Team.

The top 7 male and top 7 female competitors from the teens and Amateurs divisions will be invited to the national team.
Additionally, the top 5 male and top 5 female competitors in the Youth Divisions will be selected for the Youth National Team.
Team Guam members will have the chance to represent the island in international competitions and participate in specialized training.

New for 2025: Team Event Included in Registration

This year, all competitors 15 and older will automatically be entered into the Team Event, at no additional cost.

Teams will consist of three competitors, with a mandatory minimum of one female per team.
The top individual scorers will become team captains.
Team captains will select teammates through a draft system, ensuring fair and competitive teams.
This new format encourages teamwork, mentorship, and camaraderie, making it a great experience for both experienced competitors and those new to ninja sports.

Guam’s Wayne Blas completed his 13th Boston Marathon and 38th marathon overall.
The island’s record holder in the distance, Blas finished this year in 2:35:21.
“I’m very happy with this result because seven months ago, I was sidelined with a stress fracture that kept me out for three months. No running! To come back on an abbreviated marathon build and finish one of the toughest races strong and healthy was a big win for me.”
His time of 2:29:38 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon and World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships stands as the Guam National Record.
