In round two of the Guantis Division single elimination playoffs, the Triple J Blue Jays sent the Kosrae Masters home early, defeating them 17-7. Ensuing five innings of play at the Paseo Stadium Tuesday night, the game ended via the ten-run rule.

Down 7-3 at the bottom of the second, the Blue Jays batted a stellar third inning. Brady James Duff’s inside-the-park homerun brought home fellow teammate Kevin Mayberry. The Blue Jays ended the inning with a bang after Paul Diego hit a two RBI double, bringing in Richard Maglona and Zachary Barcinas to take a 10-7 lead. The Blue Jays tallied seven runs in the third, and ran in another five at the bottom of the fourth.

With the score at 16-7 at the bottom of the fifth, the Blue Jays were eager for a run, as they knew one more run would end the game. Back to the top of the order, Barcinas stepped up to bat. Barcinas then hit into the left gap to bring home Duff and the game.

Kosrae jumped out to a 6-0 lead at the top of the first, but quickly cut their lead due to an error, a walk, and a wild pitch, thus giving up three runs to the Blue Jays in the same inning. The Blue Jays would go on to rally back at the bottom of the third and fourth innings. Kosrae was able to score their seventh and final run at the top of the second.http://iconnectasia.com/iconnectguam/

The Blue Jays will now face off against the Pohnpei Masters in one of two semi-final matches, as each team will vie for the Guam Masters Baseball League Recreations Championship.
