The Father Duenas Friars picked up a much needed win in Boys Golf sweeping the Harvest Christian Academy Eagles 4-0 Thursday afternoon at the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course in Radio Barrigada. The win is FD’s second consecutive victory after losing to the St. Thomas Aquinas Lions a week ago.

“We really needed this win today,” said Friars coach Bill Reyes. “Percentage wise, we still have a chance at the championship.”

Friars frontman Redge Camacho continued his win streak in match play shutting out Harvest’s Nalapon Vongjalorn four holes to nothing.

Eric Tenorio and Koby Aliphios both won their respective matchups 3-0 securing the win for FD.

In the last matchup of the day, Ricardo Terlaje squeezed by Harvest’s Jordan Santos 2-1 just before sunset.

The Friars now improve to 6-1-1 and look to continue to win as the second half of the season continues to whine down.

In other matches:

St.Thomas vs. St. John’s
The Boys Lions are now 5-0-3 after they tied St. John’s 2-2. The Lady Lions put on a stellar performance sweeping the Knights 4-0.

Okkodo vs. Guam High
The girls teams split the match evenly to tie. On the boy’s side, Austin Gamboa and Levi Pate, of Guam High, fell to the competitors from Okkodo. Nick Moore of Guam High fought a tough battle with Rai Santos and came out on top for a win. Alex Ashton after five holes with Okkodo’s Ben Borja, went into a tie breaking hole to pull out a victory by two strokes therefore making it a tie between the boys as well. A well played match by the boys and girls from both schools. (information provided by Guam High coach John Borja)
