2nd RUGBY SEVENS TOURNEY A GO

[sixcol_five_last]

PRESS RELEASE – Tropical Productions and Heineken are bringing you the 2nd annual Guam Rugby Sevens this weekend at the UOG Field! Ten of the best male rugby clubs will battle it out from 1pm-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Heineken Promotions Manager, Matt Sgro, could not be more excited for this event. “Heineken and Tropical Productions have played a huge role in our rugby community. In one year alone, we have created two Rugby 7s tournaments, a Rugby 15s league, and two beach rugby tournaments (the 3rd will take place December 14-15). The great aspect of each of these rugby events is they are all different. Although they are all the same sport, with virtually the same rules; it is a complete different game to watch.”

Rugby 7s is by far the most fast pace team sport you will ever witness. Each game consists of two 7 minute halves with only a 1 minute halftime. There are no pads, helmets, or timeouts. In 7s, players look to use more spacing and speed than brute force and strategic kicking.

We highly encourage all fans and the community to come out and watch this exciting sport! There will be a game every 20 minutes from 1pm-6pm, and we guarantee there is not one game you want to miss. We will have Heineken on special, soft drinks and food all weekend long!

Thank you to all the sponsors; Heineken, Docomo Pacific, Calvo’s Insurance and Jack Daniels.
