The Guam Paradise Fitness Junior Nationals defeated the 76 Cardinals 6-2 in Friday night Budweiser Baseball League action at the Paseo Stadium. With the win the Junior Nationals improve to a 5-8, while the Cardinals drop to 6-8.

The Junior Nationals controlled the momentum for most of the game with a stingy defense that kept the Cardinals scoreless for five straight innings. Eventually, they would manage to get on the scoreboard first after an RBI single by Davin Chiguina, which would bring in teammate Billy Quenga to make it a 1-0 lead at the top of the 2^nd.

By the top of the 3^rd inning, the Cardinals decided to sit pitcher Geremiah Pecina after Junior Nationals Jesse Miner would hit an RBI single to bring in Shane Muna putting the Junior Nats up 2-0.

The Cardinals finally got on the board at the bottom of the fourth after an RBI single from Jesse San Nicolas that would send Jesse Alerta home making the score 2-1 after four innings.

However the Junior Nationals defense was on point as they kept the Cardinals scoreless for the rest of the ball game. The Cardinals defense on the other hand could not get things together going through five pitchers in their bullpen trying to figure out how to stop the Junior Nationals momentum.

The results were faulty, as the Junior Nationals would score again after an error in the infield that would allow Lorenzo Flores to score increasing the lead 5-1 at the top of the seventh inning.

Junior Nationals would go to ace pitcher Jesse Miner to preserve the win as he gave their defense a little spark after striking out 76’s Jesse Alerta. On the very next play the Junior Nat defense would retire the Cardinals off of a highlight reel double play.

The Cardinals however did not give up hope, as San Nicolas again would hit an RBI single to bring in Christian Daniel to make the score 5-2 at the bottom of the eighth. However they would be retired after a Junior National caught a pop fly hit by Jared Alerta.

The Junior Nationals would score off of another RBI single from Shane Muna to finalize the score at 6-2.
