PXC 40: FIGHTERS WEIGH IN

On the eve of PXC 40, all the fighters gathered at the PIC resort to officially weigh in for another exciting fight card.

Kyle Aguon will get his long coveted title shot against Michinori Tanaka for the bantamweight belt and both fighters made weight with Aguon at 135.5 lbs. and Tanaka at 134 lbs.

Mei Yamaguchi and Patricia Vidonic will square off in the only Women’s bought and both fighters made weight at 115 lbs.

Kyle “Boom” Reyes is back in the ring after a tough loss in PXC 39, and he will face off against Tae Kyun Kim while brothers Trevin and Tyrone Jones will both be fighting against Alvin Cacdac and Chuji Kato.

All fighters made weight except for Jay Taijeron who is set to fight Roman Alvarez at 135. Taijeron came in at 138.5 lbs. while Alvarez was at 134 lbs. Taijeron was given an hour to cut weight.

PXC 4o will be held at the UOG Field House Friday Oct. 25.

QUICK HITS

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.

The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.

JFK’s Collin Rillamas was named tournament MVP.

The Prospects captured the Guam PONY Colt Spring Baseball League (14-16) championship Saturday with a masterful 2-0 win over the Smokies.
Pitchers Gavin Alcantara (5 innings) and Javier Taimanglo (2 innings) combined to throw a no-hitter.
Taimanglo and Juan Carlo Presnell drove in the two runs for the Prospects, and Skyler Paulino had two hits.
