10th ANNUAL SUMMER JAM BASKETBALL

GuamBasketball.com together with Aloha Maid Juices and Bank of Guam present the annual Summer Jam Basketball Tournament  with opening games on Friday, June 20 starting at 5:30pm. Tournament runs thru to August 10 in the 8 under, 10 under, 12 under, 14 under, 16 under, 18 under, men’s varsity and open recreation divisions.

Tournament runs thru to August 10 in the 8 under, 10 under, 12 under, 14 under, 16 under, 18 under, men’s varsity and open recreation divisions.

“This is always an exciting time of the year for basketball players who participate. The tournament continues to develop players who progress and excel in basketball. The tournament is a testament to their hard work and commitment to being physically fit,” stated tournament coordinator Elsa Ulloa.

Celebrating its 10th year the event will host 50 plus teams, 200 games, 500 plus participants and over 1,000 fans visiting Tamuning Gym each week fulfilling its goal by bringing the community together promoting physical fitness and keeping Guam youths off the streets in an organized environment.

This year’s teams making their first appearance are the Island Wolves, Sticky Bandits, Churrasco, Guam Tropics, Chow Jitsu, Disciplez, Ruff Stunnerz and Sinajana Blazers. Returning are fan favorites MTM Falcons,  Umatac 76ers and Tamuning Typhoons.

The tournament has presented fans annually with competitive and recreational age division games. It starts with the exciting 8 and 10 under games and ending with the exhilarating men’s varsity division.

All games are held at Tamuning Gym on weekdays starting at 5:30pm. Games on Saturday and Sunday start at 10am with the final game being played at 7pm

Guam Blooded: Ethan Toves Maddies has signed to play D1 baseball for the College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts on a full ride scholarship.
He is the son of proud parents Macky and Yvette Toves Maddies of Los Alamitos, California, grandson of Juan and Maria Toves+ formerly of Ordot/Barrigada Guam and Godson of Anthony and AnnMarie Toves of Ordot, Guam.

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.

The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.

JFK’s Collin Rillamas was named tournament MVP.
