ABL: YIGOLOS, AMIGOS PICK UP WINS

Sunday at Leo Palace Park the Dongo Yigolos and Barrigada Crusaders faced off in Budweiser Amateur Baseball League action.  Starting pitcher Hisa Sakaguchi and Carl Quintanilla would combine to limit the Crusaders to only 5 hits as the Yigolos would shutout the Crusaders 6-0.

The Yigolos would start the scoring in the first inning with Teddy Concepcion leading off with a double and coming in to score on a Crusader error.  Concepcion would single and come around to score in the 2nd inning as the Yigolos stretched their lead to 3-0.

The Yigolos would add another run in the 4th inning and two more in the 5th inning taking a 6-0 lead.  Shane Tenorio chipped in a double and came in to score on a Jermain Tenorio sac fly and Joe Quintanilla added a rbi single for the Yigolos to pace the offense.

Starter Hisa Sakaguchi was on cruise control for three innings allowing only two hits and three walks to pick up the win for the Yigolos.  Reliever Carl Quintanilla closed out the final four frames allowing only two hits, no walks and striking out three to notch the save.  Teddy Concepcion picks up Strike Zone Player of the Game going 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.  Jacob Concepcion added two hits for the Yigolos who improve to 8-2 on the season.

Deshon Naputi is tagged with the loss for the Crusaders as they drop to 5-3 on the season holding the 5th seed in the Amateur standings.

6pm – Chalan Pago Amigos 6, Ralphy’s Blue Jays 3

The Chalan Pago Amigos outlasted the Ralphy’s Blue Jays in the Sunday nightcap for a 6-3 win.  Paul Campos pitched a complete game allowing only five hits and three runs in seven innings to get the win and SZ Player of the Game.

The Amigos used a three run 2nd inning and three run 5th inning against Blue Jays starter Justin Bennett to edge the Blue Jays.  Florencio Binuya was 2 for 5 with a double, triple and two rbi.  TJ Aguon and Aleton Mesgnon chipped in two hits apiece as the Amigos improve to 5-4 on the season.

Josh Perez was 2 for 2 with a run and rbi as the Blue Jays fall to 4-5 on the season.

Guam’s Jeremiah Camacho shot a perfect game at the 48th Hong Kong Open. The 22-year-old Guam National Team Member shot his 18th career perfect game on lanes 1 and 2 at Top Bowl Lanes in Hong Kong.
