The IIAAG boys basketball season kicked off on January 17th with a rematch of last year’s championship game between Okkodo and St. John’s. The Bulldogs prevailed over the Knights. Simon Sanchez pulled off a big upset over north rival Okkodo 47-45 last Friday night.
The following Saturday night, JFK blew out Sanchez 71-41. The game of the season so far was the Okkodo win over the JFK Islanders and Guam High’s 65-57 double overtime win over FD on Saturday.

Player of the Week – LJ Aguon- Guam High
The Panthers are off to 5-0 start. Aguon scored 18, 34, 19 points in wins over Notre Dame, Southern, and George Washington. The senior is leading the Panthers to improve on their past two seasons and contend for a championship.
Jeddou Antonio – Okkodo
The Bulldogs record stands at 5-1. Returnee Jeddou Antonio has led the Bulldogs with his steady play. His best performance came against St. Paul. Antonio had 26 points and 12 rebounds. The Bulldogs will rely on his leadership in trying to repeat as champions this season.
Kurtis Silva – JFK
The Islanders record stands at 5-1. Silva had 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal in a 71-41 win over Simon Sanchez. JFK’s only loss is to division rival Okkodo.
Jason Aquino – Saint Paul
The Warriors stands at 2-2. Returning senior guard Jason Aquino went for 27 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in a road win over Simon Sanchez. He brings valuable experience and leadership to a young Saint Paul team.
Austy Hines- Guam High
Hines nearly had a triple double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists against GW. He finished the week off with an impressive 18 points in the Panthers double overtime win over FD.
