PXC 45: TITLE FIGHT & GUAM’S FIRST FEMALE

October 24th, Guam’s Kyle Aguon and the Philippine’s Rolando Gabriel Dy will compete for the vacant PXC Bantamweight Title and Brogan Walker will make PXC history as the first female competitor from Guam, when she takes on PXC veteran Yoojin Jung.

PRESS RELEASE – On October 24th, Guam’s Kyle Aguon and the Philippine’s Rolando Gabriel Dy will compete for the vacant PXC Bantamweight Title. Aguon fought Michinori Tanaka for the title on October 25th, 2013 and lost a hard fought decision. Tanaka would go on to relinquish the belt and move on the UFC. Aguon met Lakay fighter Troy Bantiag in June of this year and quickly submitted him via kimura of round 1. Aguon has faced some very tough bantamweights and holds victories over UFC veterans Russell Doane and Jon Delos Reyes. Aguon is determined to make the most of this second chance.

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope to not have a single bit of talent left so that I could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’ With that being said, come PXC 45, you’ll see nothing but the best of me” Aguon claims.

Rolando Gabriel Dy is the fastest growing bantamweight star in the PXC. Dy holds a notable victory over Kyle Reyes at featherweight. Dy made the cut to bantamweight earlier this year and dominated Han Bin Park en route to a unanimous decision. Dy is son of legendary WBC champion Rolando Navarette. Like his father, Dy is a powerful striker. However, Dy has also proven to be very versatile, looking comfortable in all facets of MMA including on his back, in the clinch and with his vicious ground and pound. The Filipino phenom is ready for the test.

“I think I am in very good shape and I’m excited to meet Kyle Aguon face to face” states Dy.

Brogan Walker will be first female from Guam to fight in the PXC

Brogan Walker will make PXC history as the first female competitor from Guam, when she takes on PXC veteran Yoojin Jung. Walker is an experienced muay thai fighter with an undefeated amateur record of 6-0. She also has won numerous jiu jitsu medals including gold at the Asian open as a white belt and numerous medals at blue belt. Yoojin Jung suffered a decision loss at the hands of now UFC-signed Kailin Curran. Jung showcased powerful striking and aggression in her fight with Curran and is hungry for a victory against Walker. Jung is also a very skilled jiu jitsu practicioner – holding many titles in Korea.

PXC 45 will take place on Friday, October 24th, and will feature a stacked fight card, with professional MMA matchups showcasing some of the best international fighters.

QUICK HITS

Guam’s Wayne Blas completed his 13th Boston Marathon and 38th marathon overall.
The island’s record holder in the distance, Blas finished this year in 2:35:21.
“I’m very happy with this result because seven months ago, I was sidelined with a stress fracture that kept me out for three months. No running! To come back on an abbreviated marathon build and finish one of the toughest races strong and healthy was a big win for me.”
His time of 2:29:38 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon and World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships stands as the Guam National Record.
