
PRESS RELEASE – The 4th Day of the 1st Annual Guam Women’s Baseball Cup completed play on Friday, August 14, 2015, up at Leo Palace Stadium with a three-game schedule that featured a pitcher’s duel between Lady Guahan and Vanguard in the last game of the day.
Merced Flores got the win for Lady Guahan who held off Vanguard, 3-2 in a complete seven-inning game. Hsieh Kailing took the loss also going the full seven. Flores was named Player of the Game. Lady Guahan improved to 3-1 while Vanguard is even at 2-2.

In the first game of the day, the Far East Bloomers stayed undefeated at 4-0, with the 15-0 shut-out win over the Avengers. Shoko Kumano took the win giving up just two hits and striking out nine. Yeung Kit Ling suffered the loss. Namie Nakagome was named Player of the Game going 4-for-4, a double, 2RBI, and four runs scored. The Avengers are at 1-3 for the tournament.

In the second game of the day, Sunflower easily defeated Yarakuta, 22-5. Starter Hung Jui Mei got the win allowing just one run and two hits. She was 2-2, drove in three runs, and scored two to garner Player of the Game honors. Sunflower is even at 2-2, while Yarakuta remains winless at 0-4. The tournament wraps up on Saturday, August 15, 2015, with a three-game schedule at
