JUICE LOOKING TO THREE-PEAT

Juice is looking for three titles in a row.

PRESS RELEASE –  The Girls FastPitch Fall Ball Playoffs continued this weekend at Okkodo High School with the elimination round whittling the field down to the final two teams. #2 Bottomed Out would build momentum taking three straight games over the weekend to work their way through the loser’s bracket to meet Juice in the finals.

Juice would stroll through the winner’s bracket to set up a rematch of the Spring League finals in their quest for a third straight title. Juice took the Spring League title after beating Bottomed Out twice to take back to back titles. Bottomed Out will have to return the favor in the Fall League Championships.

In Saturday’s first elimination game Bottomed Out would pave the way to the finals knocking off T” Bzns Mu Nai 10-5. Shortstop Melaini Quintanilla would pick up Strike Zone Player of the Game going 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBI to lead the offense. Tiff Miner allowed just three runs over seven innings to notch the win.

Bottomed Out’s offense would stay hot in Sunday opening game taking down the Lady Dodgers in a 5 inning mercy rule game 13-4. Ashley Cruz was 2 for 3 with three runs and Jauria Camacho delivered a big two out-two RBI single to break the game open in the 3rd inning to share SZPOG honors.

Juice would stay unbeaten in the winner’s bracket semifinal on Sunday with a hard fought 7-2 win over a feisty Lady Tokka team. Juice starting pitcher Janise Quintanilla carried her team on the mound allowing just two runs on two hits over seven innings and third basewomen Nicole Leon Guerrero chipped in three hits and great defense to share StrikeZone Player of the Game.

The loss knocked Lady Tokka out of the winner’s bracket to take on Bottomed Out in the loser’s bracket semifinal for a spot in the finals. The win for Juice secures a spot in the finals for the third straight season.

In the loser’s bracket semifinal Meilani Quintanilla would again pick up SZPOG going 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBI to lead Bottomed Out to an 11-3 win over Lady Tokka. Miner would pick up the win allowing just one hit over five innings with five strikeouts.

The loss eliminates Lady Tokka after a great playoff run as they finish the season in third place. Bottomed Out advances to the finals needing to beat Juice twice to take the title. The Girls FastPitch Fall Ball Championship Game is this Sunday 3pm at Okkodo High School.
