LADY RAIDERS WIN BIG IN SEASON TIPOFF

The Saint Anthony Catholic School Lady Raiders came out strong Thursday night with a big win over the home team St John’s Lady Knights in Lady Raiders first game of the 2015 season, 27 – 8.

The bulk of the Lady Raiders scoring came from the two 8th Graders in Monica Giger and guard Kirstin Silva. Giger collected a double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. Silva added 8 points, 8 steals and 4 assists.

The Lady Raiders showcased a strong defense that worked hard on every play coming up with blocks and steals from Silva, Giger and another 8th grade defensive stand out Ivory Howat adding 2 points, 7 steals, 4 rebounds & a blocked shot.

The Lady Raiders’ starting five all came out of the game in the 3rd quarter to cheers from the crowd and high fives from the bench.

The Lady Raiders next five finished the game strong and carried on the rest of the way to victory.
