SHOOTING/SCORING CLINIC THIS WEEKEND

Be more efficient at shooting and scoring in basketball.

PRESS RELEASE – The Guam Basketball Confederation (GBC) will be holding another HOOPS ACADEMY this Saturday & Sunday at the Father Duenas Phoenix Center in Mangilao. This month’s clinic will focus on “Shooting Fundamentals & Scoring”, with players under the age of 13 training on Saturday, October 24th, and players from 13 to 18 working out on Sunday, October 25th from 4pm to 7pm. Registration to begin at 3pm each day at The Phoenix Center. $25 per player per session.

Space is limited, so please email Guam Basketball ([email protected]) to reserve a spot today. Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver/registration form prior to the workout.

Players will receive instruction from National Team coaches and players, including members of our Men’s National Team coming off a successful summer winning Gold and being awarded the Most Outstanding Team at the Pacific Games. The HOOPS ACADEMY coaches will also cover:

  • Game Preparation
  • Teamwork
  • Preparing to Play College & International Basketball

QUICK HITS

Guam national golf team player Aki Matsuno secured second place at the FCG Hawaii World Series championship.

Matsuno’s second place finish earned him an invitation to compete in the FCG Junior Golf Championship to be held in July 2025.

A junior at St. John’s, he is also currently leading the IIAAG high school All-Island golf competition, chasing the coveted individual high school golf title.

Guam Blooded: College freshman Brianne Graves is currently ranked 5th in the nation in the 103-lb DI women’s wrestling rankings. She just beat the defending All-American.
Bri finished high school in Cincinnati, ranked #2 in the nation before signing with North Central College, which is one of the top wrestling teams in the country.
Her Evangelista grandparents are originally from Yigo.
