The 2nd Annual Yigo Youth Basketball Tournament is midway through it’s one week block, setting up for it’s conclusion this weekend. The boys range from ages U14 and U16 with two visiting teams from the Philippines, who have faired well going undefeated at the tourney midpoint.

During Wednesday night’s games, the FBLG Hawks played the Untalan Wildcats in a close contest.

FBLG 37, Untalan 31

FBLG Hawks Jahmar White has been the lead man all season long and his 11 team high points were the difference. White drilled a three pointer to go up 37-26 with two minutes left to play to keep the Wildcats from coming back.

The Wildcats entered the second half with the never quit attitude and battle back to cut down their double-digit lead to just six points after Westbrook Concepcion nailed a three pointer from the wing.

White answered right back with a steal and fast break bucket to go up 29-21 ending a three-minute scoring drought that allowed the Wildcats back in the game. Another score by the Wildcats forced the Hawks to call a timeout with the score 36-26 with a little over five minutes to go.

The Hawks got buckets from Hansen Ignacio and White in the final minutes to seal the win, going unbeaten thus far.
