3X3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY SET FOR SATURDAY

PRESS RELEASE – Guam 3X3 Basketball National Championship Tournament This Saturday!

On July 29th, Guam basketball fans will be treated to the highest level basketball tournament of the year. The Guam Basketball Confederation will crown National Champions of 3X3 in both Men & Women Divisions after a 1 day tournament.

The Tournament will take place at the UOG Calvo Field House with games starting at 2pm, with game after game through the afternoon. The Dunk Contest will take place immediately prior to the Medal Games on the main court. In the Men’s Division, 6 teams have been invited to compete for the Gold Medal, including The KFC Bombers & UOG Tritons taking on 4 teams composed of Guam National players. “We’ve never had this much size and talent compete in Guam, and we are extremely excited,” according to Men’s Program Director, E.J. Calvo.

6 Teams are also expected to be competing in the Women’s Division, showcasing Guam’s rising talent pool of lady basketball players.

This tournament will be sanctioned by FIBA and earn points towards world rankings of 3X3 basketball, which is now an Olympic sport and growing worldwide.
