PRESS RELEASE – (Auckland, New Zealand) After a great start on Saturday, April 22, 2017, the Master women from Guam in the 30+ Women’s “C” Grade Division didn’t put on any brakes and a took the 40 to 11 victory over Lady Hoops 2. In the previous day, on Saturday, April 28, 2017, the Guam Masters 30+ women started of the Games with a 50 to 15 win over Franklin Basketball(New Zealand). The 30+ Masters Women are now 2-0.
The 40+ Masters Women didn’t fair too well dropping their second game in a row today. The Perth MoB (Masters of Basketball) defeated Team Guam, 69-18. On Saturday, April 22, 2017, the 40+ Masters women lost their opener, 50 to 15. The 40+ women are now 0-2.
In the The 50+ Masters Men’s division, the Guam team GMBA Boleros suffer a loss, the Bunnies beating them, 39-35. They are now 1-1. The 40+ Guam Men miss an opportunity, Hybrid takes the win over Gepan, 53-48. Difficult day for the 60+ Men, Wellington, NZ 4JT50Plus beat the Super Lolos, 56-23.
Matches continue on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the Bruce Pullman Park in Papakura Auckland.

The Prospects captured the Guam PONY Colt Spring Baseball League (14-16) championship Saturday with a masterful 2-0 win over the Smokies.
Pitchers Gavin Alcantara (5 innings) and Javier Taimanglo (2 innings) combined to throw a no-hitter.
Taimanglo and Juan Carlo Presnell drove in the two runs for the Prospects, and Skyler Paulino had two hits.

Guam Blooded: Joel Toves has signed to play college volleyball for the UC-Merced Bobcats. He is the son of Arianne and Phillip Toves of Dededo and grandson of Ed and Paulette Toves of Malesso.
Joel will be on Guam over the summer to help out with his uncle Al Garrido’s volleyball camps with the Legacy Volleyball Club.
