Playoff action picked up Sunday afternoon in the FD Alumni Basketball Tournament. Class 430-5 knocked off the oldest class of 75 while 06 and the host class 2008 picked up wins.
Guam’s top bowler Jay Leon Guerrero showed he’s just as lethal on the court, leading 430-5 with 14 points to move past ’75 46-28. Don Brooks led ’75 in scoring with 12 points as they kept it close before a second half pull-away by 430-5.
The six time champions were tested early against the young 2017 class, but a 26 point effort from ’06’s Julius Yu, which included six three pointers, was enough to keep ’06 ahead for good by taking a Sunday win 61-48. Rudy Gaza connected on four three pointers to lead 2017 with 14 points.
