Madiyln ‘Bubba’ Nickles was officially named to the USA Softball roster that will travel to compete in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo next summer. The USA Olympic Trials completed this past weekend and Nickles made the team as a Utility player.
Nickles is prepping for her final season at UCLA, coming off a season winning the National Title. Nickles popped up on GSPN’s radar during her senior season at Merced where she would go on to be named the Gatorade Softball Player of the year.
Nickles made her first trip to Guam in the Summer of 2018, highlighting the first ever Women’s Softball All-Star Game in which she participated in. Bubba also hosted clinics on while spending time with her family.

Guam’s Wayne Blas completed his 13th Boston Marathon and 38th marathon overall.
The island’s record holder in the distance, Blas finished this year in 2:35:21.
“I’m very happy with this result because seven months ago, I was sidelined with a stress fracture that kept me out for three months. No running! To come back on an abbreviated marathon build and finish one of the toughest races strong and healthy was a big win for me.”
His time of 2:29:38 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon and World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships stands as the Guam National Record.
