TENORIO-TOVES COMMITS TO DI AIC YELLOWJACKETS

PRESS RELEASE – Kekoa Tenorio-Toves, a senior at Simon Sanchez High School, recently committed to the AIC  Yellowjackets to play Division 1 Rugby. In the Fall, Kekoa will attend American International  College (AIC), located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Their rugby program is one of the top Division 1 teams in the East Coast, and competes in the East Coast Rugby Conference. Kekoa received an Academic Presidential Scholarship and is planning on studying Physical Therapy. 

In March 2020, Kekoa helped lead the Sharks Rugby Team to the high school championship  game. He plays the position of Fly-half and has been a regular starter on the team for the last three years. He was awarded All-Island honors in March 2020.

In July 2019, Kekoa traveled with  a Guam under 18 yrs old team to play in the 3rd Asian School U18 Rugby Sevens Championship  in Malaysia.

QUICK HITS

Guam’s top female golfer Tyanna Jacot has committed to play D1 golf with the San Jose State Spartans next school year. Jacot left Guam after her sophomore high school year to pursue her golf dreams. She currently is a senior at Torrey Pines High School where they look to defend the California state championship.

Guam Sports Legends: Baseball’s Richard Martinez and football’s Kenny Lujan hang out at a recent community fundraiser. Both were superstars for the UOG Tritons in their respective sports in the 1980’s.
