TRITONS HOLD OFF PIRATES IN SHORTENED GAME

Rain halts late Sunday game

PRESS RELEASE – The UOG Tritons took down the Pirates on a rainy Sunday night at Paseo Stadium. The Tritons won 13-11 after the game was called due to rain in the 6th inning. The win moves the Tritons to 7-2 on the season and places them in a tie for 2nd place in the 2022 Guam Major League. The loss for the Pirates leaves them with a 7-4 record, moving them to 5th place.

The Tritons started off hot in the bottom of the 1st with five runs as Kyle Martinez hits an RBI single to bring home Arren Yatar and Brandon Tuquero hit a 2-run single to bring home Rico Seman and Rico Miner.

With a couple of big innings for the Pirates, they took the lead in the top of the 5th to go up 8-7 with JD San Nicolas and Quincy Fejerang hitting RBIs to help take the lead. This lead did not last long as the Tritons had their biggest inning of the night with six runs in the bottom of the 5th as the Tritons scored all six runs without a hit, using walks and errors to push across runs and take a 13-7 lead.
