CHARGUALAF FOR THE TAEKWONDO GOLD

Tugade-Watson settles for bronze in 100m

Team Guam wins gold and bronze in the women’s Taekwondo events at the 17th Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

Tierra Lynn Chargualaf took gold in the -53kg and Amber Toves is the bronze medalist in the -57kg division.

Chargualaf beat the lone opponent in the division from the Solomon Islands 2-1.

Micronesia’s fastest woman, Regine Tugade-Watson, settled for the bronze in the women’s 100m finals Tuesday night.

Tugade-Watson finished in 11.92 seconds, behind Australia’s Georgia Harris (11.70) and Papua New Guinea’s Isila Apkup (11.86).

Tennis doubles

The men’s doubles team of Danny Llarenas and Camden Camacho lost their semifinals match 4-6, 6-1, 6-10 and will play for the bronze later this week against New Caledonia.
